GENERAL mild spoilers • Born in 2004 and orphaned by 2015, Ramse takes James Cole under his wing following the death of Cole's father. After a viral pandemic wipes out the majority of the world's population, the two stick together and scavenge through Philadelphia. What remains of humanity, those few naturally immune to the virus, become hostile and scattered. Cole and Ramse rely on each other to stay alive, killing others in self-defense. • 2043: Rummaging through the wrong building, Cole and Ramse are taken captive by a group of scientists protected by military officers. The head of the operation, Dr. Katarina Jones, has constructed and perfected a time machine. Cole is tasked with the mission to travel back to 2015 and stop the virus, saving civilization. Ramse convinces him to accept and is thereafter a guest at the facility and Cole's moral support. • Ramse later uses the machine as well, visiting the years 1944, 1961, 1975, 2007 and 1987 through 2016.
